travel does a world of good

Your donation helps HI-MN achieve its mission
We talk a lot about travel around here, what it does for people and what it does for the world. It's our feeling that if people traveled more, the world would be a better place.
Travel allows people to get to know one another, to break down stereotypes, to see commonalities and differences between cultures.
In a world that seems more and more fractured, where tensions flare into confrontations, and people are at odds with one another, the time for travel-in all its fearful wonder and unknown possibility- has never been more important.
We are urging you to put some travel time on the calendar in 2008. Square away a week or two and head to some place you've never been. It will do a world of good.
We also urge you to make a donation to HI-Minnesota. Your donation will allow us to continue our work educating people about travel, as well as organize the Minnesota Ironman Bike Ride and operate the Mississippi Headwaters Hostel.
Our mission is simple: To develop culturally sensitive world citizens through educational programs, promotion of responsible travel and positive hostelling experiences.
Travel education is largely an unfunded enterprise. They're aren't many organizations out there that simply preach the praises of the travel experience. If you believe in what traveling does for a person, please consider a donation to HI-Minnesota.
In 2007 the Minnesota Council hosted 30 travel education programs serving 700 participants. Programs we call Traveler Circles and World Travel 101 encourage global exploration and teach the values of cultural understanding and responsible travel. These programs are free and they will continue to expand to new locations and audiences in 2008.
This is who we are. This is what we do. Every gift we receive will go to support our growing educational programs. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to HI-Minnesota in the amount of $10, $25, $50, $100 or more. Thank you for your generosity.
Safe Travels,

Jon Ridge
